Somatic Therapy is a body-based approach that supports healing by helping you notice how stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and trauma may be showing up in your body. Approaches such as Somatic Experiencing and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy recognize that the nervous system plays an important role in how we respond to difficult experiences. Somatic Therapy can be especially helpful if you feel stuck in patterns of high alert, shutdown, disconnection, or emotional overwhelm, or if you have done talk therapy before but still feel stress living in your body. Over time, this work can help you build greater awareness, steadiness, and a deeper sense of connection with yourself.
