ACCEPTING NEW CLIENT

Rahel Claman is a Master's-level Graduate Intern Counsellor providing reduced-cost counselling under the supervision of Clinical Director, Shivani Wells-Shaw. Rahel is passionate about supporting clients with trauma-related symptoms including intergenerational and religious trauma, self-criticism, relational and sex-related issues, disordered eating, attachment wounds, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, oppression, and chronic pain.

Rahel believes healing happens in relationship and that with safety and collaboration in the counselling space, clients can begin to move towards the growth and transformation they seek.

Rahel’s therapeutic approach is embodied, non-judgmental, and compassionate. While primarily influenced by Internal Family Systems (IFS), she also draws inspiration from Somatic Experiencing (SE), Person-Centered Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment Theory, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP).

Prior to becoming a counsellor, Rahel spent over two decades teaching mindful movement arts in the form of Raqs Sharqi (Bellydance), Hatha Yoga, and a trauma-informed somatic practice called Embodied Movement. Her experience in supporting embodiment, empowerment, mindfulness, and self-acceptance informs her work as a counsellor.

Rahel is passionate about helping people from all walks of life feel welcome and seen. She works with individuals and couples of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, cultural backgrounds, and relational structures.
