ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

Loretta Laurin, who goes by Lo, offers a holistic approach to therapy. They work collaboratively with you to support all of your parts - including your emotions, thoughts, relationships, and the social and cultural contexts that shape you.
Lo specializes in relationships, trauma, and personal growth. They support clients with relationship challenges (including queer and open relationships), interpersonal and family conflict, trauma-related symptoms (including physical, sexual, racial, and intergenerational trauma), anxiety, burnout, self-criticism, grief & loss, explorations of gender and cultural identity, psychedelic integration, and life & career transitions.
Lo’s approach is rooted in somatics (body-based), social justice, and attachment theory. Lo brings a deep understanding of the mind-body connection, having taught mindful movement (yoga, pilates, dance) for over 15 years. As a multi-racial queer person with experiences of chronic pain, Lo is committed to providing culturally sensitive and context-aware care that honours the complexity of your lived experience. Lo also draws on attachment theory to explore how early relationship patterns may be affecting you today, and to support healing through new, more secure experiences of safety and connection.
For individual therapy, Lo works primarily with Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps us to understand, appreciate, and integrate all the various parts of ourselves. Lo also draws upon Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP), Satir, Gestalt, Feminist, Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Life Coaching to tailor the experience to you and your unique story.
As a couples and relationship counsellor, Lo welcomes and celebrates all relationships, including LGBTQIA2S+, polyamorous, and kink. They work with Relational Life Therapy (RLT), which focuses on exploring the root causes of harmful patterns of behaviour and communication, while developing more effective relationship skills and fostering connection. They also draw from Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and The Gottman Method.
Lo aims to provide clients with a compassionate space where they can feel the support needed to not only take the next steps along their healing journey, but to thrive in their lives and relationships.
Lo Offers In-Person and Online Appointments
