Katrina Kaiser specializes in the treatment of trauma-related symptoms, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief and loss, life transitions, parenting support, and attachment wounds unique to those who have been adopted. She uses an integrative therapeutic approach, combining both cognitive and somatic therapies including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) depending on your needs and goals for therapy.

Most people have experienced challenges in their life - whether it be traumatic event(s) and/or attachment wounds from some of our most important relationships- and it is normal to feel stuck, lost, or confused as a result of what we have experienced. People have the resources and inner wisdom to heal and by working together we can integrate those painful experiences so they do not remain in the present causing emotional pain and disturbance.

Katrina embodies a calm and approachable nature as she believes that profound healing can happen in the safety of a therapeutic relationship. Katrina holds a holistic approach to well-being and she believes therapy is just one part of that. Most people can benefit from counselling whether it is a weekly commitment or monthly check-ins. Together we can explore not only the issues you struggle with but also the things in your life that bring you a sense of peace and contentment. We will build on your strengths and what you are already doing to increase your well-being.

Katrina uses an integrative therapy approach and has comprehensive training in both cognitive and somatic therapies which allows her to work with people who have experienced trauma, whether it is single-event trauma or repeated traumatic events spanning over months or years. She has specialized training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level I, as well as biofeedback interventions through HeartMath. For work with children and families, she draws on attachment-based interventions including Theraplay and Marschak Interaction Method (Level 1). She is also a certified Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) Facilitator.
