CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
Katrina Kaiser holds a holistic approach to well-being and sees therapy as just one part of that. She works collaboratively to explore and identify the roots of her client’s struggles and celebrates their growth and triumphs. If you are looking for a therapist who can sit with you in your emotional pain and also share moments of lightness and laughter, Katrina could be a good fit for you. Regardless of the concerns you are bringing to therapy, her supportive presence allows clients to put their painful experiences back in the past and feel more like themselves again.
Katrina specializes in the treatment of trauma-related symptoms, anxiety, depression, relationship issues (encompassing all different relationship structures), grief and loss, life transitions, parenting support, and attachment wounds. She also has a growing passion and interest in supporting clients on the neuro-divergence spectrum, particularly those living with symptoms of ADHD. She uses an integrative therapeutic approach, combining both cognitive and somatic therapies including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP), Parts Work, as well as biofeedback interventions through HeartMath, depending on your needs and goals for therapy. Katrina is a registered provider through Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) and is working towards her certification in EMDR.
Her approach to healing is grounded in warmth, curiosity, creativity, empathy, and acceptance, and she believes a supportive relationship is foundational to good therapy. She fundamentally believes that people have the innate wisdom and capacity to heal, and although people may struggle, no one is broken. One of her favourite parts of being a therapist is witnessing clients' relief following an EMDR reprocessing session, when the grips of their traumatic past no longer take hold.
