Meet Rissa

Registered Clinical Counsellor

(Rissa's pronouns are: she/her).

Rissa Neufeld is a Family Systems trained therapist specializing in relational therapy and the treatment of trauma. It is her passion to help clients uncover their own wisdom and innate ability to heal so that they can live their best lives and experience fulfilling relationships.
Negative life experiences not only affect a person individually but relationally as well. Survivors can begin to experience issues with trust, communication, and closeness that create a pattern of distancing. From my years of training and experience, both personally and professionally, Rissa believes in the power of reconnecting with the self and others to heal.

Rissa will work collaboratively with you to create a treatment plan based on your goals, with the purpose of reconnecting you to your ideal life.
Working from client-centered and humanistic ideologies, she uses a number of relational therapies along with EMDR and somatic-oriented techniques to reduce the impact of trauma on the individual and their loved ones.  Because, after all…
“For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love.” — Carl Sagan
Research has shown that positive outcomes in therapy are strongly linked to the quality of “fit” between client and provider. As such, it is Rissa's goal to create a safe, empathic, and affirming space for you to process.

Rissa is a registered provider with the Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP)
